About[]

Born in 1992, Ricky C is an average rapper from Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, East Midlands well known for his big ego and somewhat bipolar behaviour. Recognisable in the past for wearing Grey tracksuit bottoms, Grey Hoodie, and a "Gold" Chain, greeting everyone he meets with "Wagwan". Also into little boys

History[]

Ricky C's Rap career started Circa 2008, where he attended Loughborough College, Studying Music Performance for what is to believed to be a year. After which he would spend time collaborating with Local Artists in Leicester, organising small events.

Circa 2011, his attempts of creating a music Label named "IAU" was met with ridicule in the Leicestershire Rap Scene, after an Event involving professional artist Sean Strange Ft Swifty Mcvay from D12 whom he had booked, poorly organised and marketed, left him financially unstable. Allegedly funded by his family. That night, Local Artists were promised to be given a set on stage but instead were pushed by Ricky C to go out and promote the event. Causing a detrimental blow to his reputation to be taken seriously as a business orientated individual.

Running up to the event, Ricky C attempted to release an album recorded at HQ Studios Leicester. But due to Ill preparation and lack of direction such as false promises made to Local Artists as well as a constraint budget it was never complete. Leaving him struggling for recognition within the local Scene.

Due to arguments with several Artists as well as Venue Owners and Engineers, Ricky C has burnt bridges with the majority of Leicestershire's Hip-hop and Rap community primarily due to temper tantrums and tendency to blame others rather then his own short comings.

Although Ricky C has participated in several small events across the UK, with an ability to hype the crowd and freestyle quiet well. Ricky C's most notable Live performance was in 2013 on "Don't Flop", one of the largest professional rap battle leagues in England, where ill preparation resulted in one of the worst "UK Rap battles" in history, gathering over 100K views within days of being posted. Subsequently he would return 2 years later battling J cruz at the Dont flop Christmas party in 2015.

Social Media Presence[]

Online, Ricky C advertises himself as a successful rapper, additionally as a  producer and engineer, but struggles to implement the most basic techniques used in these additional self proclaimed job titles. His response, "I'll get someone on fiver to do it" or "I'll do it myself" has been an iconic line heard amongst producers he has attempted to lowball across the globe.

Ricky C's Facebook Page is mostly filled with memes, posting up to 10 times in a single day, gathering little response. A self setup group titled "Ricky C / IAU ARMY" with approximately 100 members was also created, most of which do not engage. Though Ricky C claims to have a fanbase in the thousands, its estimated the true size is around 10-30, mostly consisting of relatives and local acquaintances.

As of 2022 he is attempting to market himself on tiktok under "@rickycofficial" with little success, due to his out of touch mentality, commenting on current events and topics in the world. One video gathering 2500 views, where his personality is criticised as he is commenting on the Nottinghill Carnival Event of 2022.

Personality[]

Known for exaggerating facts, stretching the truth, and gaslighting business partners and friends to move forward in life, he has built a reputation for being a manipulative individual.  Ricky C's drive and enthusiasm though contagious, can be motivating, but his lack of communication and organisational skills, mixed with his inflated ego, toxic and misogynistic behaviour has caused him to be shunned by the majority of people he has met throughout his life.

Criticism[]

Despite having Studied Music Performance at Loughborough College and investing well over £2k in a small "bedroom studio" located in a shed at the back of his parent's garden, Ricky C has released only a dozen singles. Working on a repeatably self-proclaimed album for well over a decade. Commonly being touted on his Facebook Page. Ricky C has yet to release anything noteworthy to be played nationally.

Amongst locals and lost acquaintances, hIs current public image has been often associated with the stereotypical meme of “wanna-be” rappers who refuse to grow up and move on with their life.

Although Ricky C does poses talent, it’s his personality that stunted at the age of 18, which ultimately stopped his music career from flourishing any further than that of a Teenager living with their parents.
